Rocky Mountaineer Passenger Train

Following an overnight in Vancouver, British Columbia, your Rockies vacation begins as you board the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer passenger train. This luxurious train will glide you to your Canadian Rockies destinations. The Rocky Mountaineer is a relaxing, safe and fun way to visit the towns of the Canadian Rockies. You'll have rare views of the terrain from atop the tracks as you travel through the hills, valleys and mountain slopes of the Canadian Rockies. Avoid the frustration of maps and streets signs - let us do the driving while you sit back and enjoy your vacation!

A Spectacular Journey to Kamloops

The first stop on your Canadian Rockies Highlights vacation is Kamloops, found in the southeastern interior of British Columbia. As your Rocky Mountaineer train takes you west to Kamloops, you'll pass through fertile fields and towering peaks of the Coastal Mountains as you enter the Fraser Valley. You'll see the Fraser River violently pass through Hell's Gate, creating stunning landforms throughout the region. If you're looking for evening entertainment during your overnight stay in Kamloops, visit the Maple Leaf Musical or Great Canadian Lumberjack Show Dinner for some live Canadian entertainment!

Enter Banff National Park in the Rockies!

The next morning, your journey continues eastward to the mighty Canadian Rockies. Once again you will see a spectacular range of scenery as you travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. Today’s highlights include Craigellachie where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers pass, the Kicking Horse Canyon and Spiral Tunnels of Yoho National Park and of course the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. End your Rail Journey in Banff this evening. Upon arrival, a motorcoach will transfer you to Lake Louise.

Banff to Lake Louise

On the next day of your Canadian Rockies Highlights vacation, a half-day narrated tour shows you some of the natural wonders of the rockies. The highlight is a 20 minute helicopter flight about the six glaciers of Mount Resolute, Mount Cline and the Whitegoat Peaks. You will also view the 900-foot waterfall, some spectacular aqua-green alpine lakes and cross over a 9, 000 foot mountain pass (guests can choose to take a land tour instead of the Helicopter Tour). Your tour ends at Lake Louise with an overnight at the famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Hotel.

Journey from Lake Louise to the Stampede City of Calgary

This morning a sightseeing tour shows you the highlights of Banff. Among the points of interest are visits to Banff Gondola, Bow Falls, the Cave and Basin Centre, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. From Banff, you will transfer to where big city fun and small-town charm meet in this Canadian Rockies destination best known for its historical reputation as a cowboy city. While the wild west image has subsided in Calgary, the city still celebrates its heritage with the annual Calgary Stampede - the city's number one tourist attraction. Your package includes an overnight stay in Calgary.
